VACATION CHECK-OFF LIST - PROTECT YOUR HOME For most of us, summertime is a time for a little relaxation. For others, it is a time of taking advantage of our relaxed state to look for opportunities to commit crimes. With homes vacant as people take vacations, unsupervised juveniles out of school for the summer, and with doors and windows being open or unlocked to beat the heat, there is an increased likelihood that property crimes will increase. To keep your home safe while you are away, please take a look at our "Vacation Check-Off List." This flyer is downloadable and printable so that you may share it with your friends and family.

KEEPING ANIMALS SAFE IN THE CITY OF LONG BEACH "Backyard breeders" and anyone allowing their pet to reproduce without a breeding permit is illegal in the city of Long Beach. Even one litter contributes to the sad consequences of pet overpopulation which includes stray, homeless and abandoned animals, animal cruelty, and euthanization. Please join representatives from the city's Animal Care Services and other city departments for a workshop on the city's breeding and transfer ordinance, on Monday, July 20, 2009 at City Hall.
Please click on the attached flyer for the exact location and other additional details about the workshop, as well as a printable flyer to share with other people concerned about animal welfare. You must RSVP to the number on the flyer if you wish to attend.
Since animals rarely call 9-1-1, please ALWAYS report cases of animal cruelty and neglect, as well as possible unpermitted breeding by calling Animal Care Services at (562) 570-PETS.
