Be aware of solicitors selling magazine subscriptions. It has been brought to our attention that a female driving a white van is dropping off two white males at some gated communities in the valley. They then jump the wall and claim to be selling magazine subscriptions to benefit Little League baseball. This is illegal and should be reported to local police if you see them. All peddlers with the exception of some non-profits will have a peddler’s license issued by the City of Desert Hot Springs. Please use good judgment when solicitors come to your door and try and verify credentials.
If you are unsure who is at your door don’t open it. If something doesn’t seem right such as you know no soliciting is not allowed in your gated community yet solicitors are at your door; call the police.
