** IRIS PARADE STREET CLOSURES *** 

Keizer Police will be closing River Road on Saturday May 16, 2009 for the annual Keizer Iris Festival Parade.

Lockhaven Drive N will be closed at 06:30 a.m. to all traffic between River Road and McClure Street N to establish the parade staging area.

River Road will be closed to all north and southbound traffic at 9:00 a.m. from Plymouth Drive to Lockhaven Drive. The Northbound River Road traffic will be diverted to Cherry Avenue NE via Plymouth Drive NE. Southbound River Road traffic will be diverted eastbound on Lockhaven Drive NE.

Prior to the parade and other events beginning, traffic will periodically be allowed to cross River Road at Chemawa Road, Dearborn Avenue, and Manbrin Drive. Vehicle traffic will be allowed to proceed northbound on River Road from Chemawa Road at the discretion of the traffic control officers.

The Iris Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. and proceed southbound on River Road from Lockhaven Drive. The parade will end at the intersection of River Road and Plymouth Drive. It is expected that River Road will begin to re-open at 12:30 p.m. as the parade proceeds southbound on River Road.

Parade signs advising of the street closure will be posted along River Road on May 13 to advise citizens of the forthcoming closure.

** CIVIC CENTER OPEN HOUSE **

Come see the new City Hall, Police Department and Community Center on Monday, June 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 6:00 p.m.
