JOIN THE PALM SPRINGS POLICE CITIZENS ON PATROL
The Palm Springs Police Department, Citizens On Patrol has been in existence since 1996. From a humble beginning of nine members, it quickly grew to a high of forty members. C.O.P. members patrol the streets of Palm Springs in marked Police cruisers, equipped with police radios and act as the “eyes and ears” of the community. They control traffic at traffic collisions and during parades, and are called out for emergencies such as downed power lines and fires.
The Citizens On Patrol organization is currently seeking new members. To qualify you must be at least eighteen years old, attend the Citizens Police Academy, pass a background check and complete a training regimen. To obtain an application for membership, call the C.O.P. office at 760-323-8149. |
