Meet Your Police Chief

Hi! My name is Tom Gallivan and I have the privilege of being your Chief of Police Services.  I am a Lieutenant and a 29 year veteran of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.  The City of Villa Park has been contracting with the Sheriff's Department for law enforcement Services since the City's incorporation in 1962.

Villa Park continues to be one of the safest communities in Southern California.  Crimes of violence in this community are very rare.  The majority of the crimes that occur in Villa Park are categorized as property crimes, crimes such as thefts from unlocked and locked vehicles and residential burglaries.  In 2009 we saw a 34% reduction in crime from 2008.

We look to continue this reduction in crime in the coming year.  Crime Prevention is a responsibility that police services takes very seriously, but we cannot do it alone.  It is the partnership between the city and its residents that makes Villa Park a "Hidden Jewel"  You can take an active role in crime prevention by
contacting city hall and finding out about the outstanding Neighborhood Watch Program that is in place.  Remember to report any and all suspicious activity to the Sheriff's Department.  You are the eyes and ears of our Field Deputies and we support and appreciate your assistance.
