A word about local emergency numbers-

The Keizer Police Department contracts dispatching services with Willamette Valley 9-1-1.  To report an in-progress crime or other emergency, always dial 9-1-1.  To report a non-emergency crime or situation, dial 503-390-2000 or you may call our business office at 503-390-3713.  Dialing 9-1-1 for emergencies ensures the fastest, managed police response. Be aware that cellular calls may not always route to the nearest 9-1-1 center.

More on personal safety-

If you are being followed or are otherwise in need of a safe, public place, the Keizer Police Department has a "panic room" in the main City Hall entrance adjacent to the parking lot.  Once inside the vestibule, persons may press the red "panic" button after-hours at which time the exterior door will lock and an alarm will notify police to be dispatched.  This feature is still being developed and is expected to be on-line in the coming days.  A police dispatch phone is functional in the vestibule for after-hours police business.

Keizer Police testing new crime notification service-

The Keizer Police Department is currently testing a new electronic crime notification service that will make crime and other incident data available to the public on a daily basis. Users can view a website to determine crime activity occuring in their neighborhood or throughout the Salem-Keizer area and have the option of receiving e-mail alerts when crimes occur in pre-defined locations.  More information will be available in the coming days.
