IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT CRIME WATCH

Crime Watch hosted by Yahoo! Groups was created in 2005 as a means for the Keizer Police Department to communicate important crime and safety information to the citizens of Keizer electronically.   In order for us to provide a better level of service to the community, we are transitioning to a new electronic communications service called Nixle.

Beginning November 1st, the Keizer Police Department will no longer disseminate information (media releases, crime locations, crime prevention information) through the Crime Watch group. Because we do not have access to Nixle subscriber information, it is not possible for us to transfer your Crime Watch email address to Nixle Action is required on your part to continue to receive electronic communications from us.

What is Nixle?

Nixle is the first certified and secure communication platform that allows local police departments, sheriff departments, municipal agencies and other authorized groups to instantly connect with residents by text message, email or the web, in the most trusted, reliable and geographically-targeted way.  Nixle is a service that allows you to receive trusted, up-to-the-minute, neighborhood information for where you live, work, visit - or for where your family and friends are located throughout the country. You choose the information you want, for the locations you want, from urgent public safety alerts to less time sensitive advisories and community information. You choose how you want to receive the information, whether it is over your cell phone by text message, by email or on the web. You stay connected to what is happening in the communities and the locations that are important to you. All Nixle servers are located at the International Justice and Public Safety Network.  We do not have access to the information you provide.

Registration is FREE, SIMPLE, and SECURE.  No installation or special training is required.

To sign up for Nixle or to find out more information, please visit www.nixle.com and click on Consumer Information.  There is a link to a short video on how the service works.  We hope to continue serving you on Nixle.
