SCAM ALERTS AND PREVENTION TIPS
The Long Beach Police Department's Forgery/Fraud Detail has noticed an increase in scams in the past year. Please click on the link to read our news release which outlines some of the more prevalent scams that have been reported, and find out what to do if you feel someone is trying to scam you in person, or over the phone or Internet. In addition, the links below also show videos of how these scams are committed in a public setting. Please share this information with your friends and family, especially any senior citizens you know.
In addition, the LBPD's Crime Prevention Unit will be hosting its monthly Community Crime Prevention Meeting this month, with the topic being "Scams." Longtime Forgery/Fraud Detective Greg McMullen will be our topic speaker and share his expertise on the topic. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Long Beach Water Department, 1800 East Wardlow Road.
