PAUL BUNYAN DAYS LABOR DAY WEEKEND AUGUST 29 - SEPTEMBER 1
This year's Labor Day weekend will mark the 69th year of celebrating Paul Bunyan Days in Fort Bragg. As in past years, the entire weekend willl be full of entertainment and competition. Just a few of the popular events include the Sup & Stomp, Kiddie Parade & Tricycle Race, Logging Show with Axe Throw, Pole Climb, Chain Saw Bucking and King of the Log Pillow Fight, the Belle of the Redwoods, Blue Ox Beer Festival, Soroptomist Craft Fair, Fire Department Water Fights, Ugly Dog Contest and the Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show. WELCOME TO THE NEWEST POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES! On Tuesday, August 5, 2008 Chief of Police Mark Puthuff had the pleasure of swearing in a new Police Officer and Police Sergeant. Officer Brian Clark Graduated from the Modesto Police Academy and comes to Fort Bragg with prior law enforcement experience. He is a valued addition to our team! Sergeant Phillip Ward joins us with a wealth of knowledge and over 18 years of law enforcement expereince. Sgt. Ward's prior assignments have included Patrol, Courts, Major Crimes, Narcotics, K-9 Handler, SWAT Team Leader, Field Training Officer and Instructor of tactical weaponry. He is also a medal of Valor Recipient. Please join the Department in welcoming these individuals to our community!
